Well! Each year we are finding few new teams in the BPL T20. Since the very first BPL, they started with 6 teams, they are- Dhaka Gladiators, Chittagong Kings, Sylhet Royals, Khulna Royal Bengal, Duranta Rajshahi and Barisal Burners.
On the season 2, we could see another new team called Rangpur Riders.
But, after that we could not see any activities from BPL T20 for 1 year due to some legal obligation. Finally, season 3 starts with totally new teams and management except Rangpur Riders managed by i-sports.
Only 6 teams played in BPL T20 season 3, with a newly introduced team named Comilla Victorians who also won the title later on, owned by Nafisa Kamal who was previous season’s Sylhet Royals’ owner. Along with few new teams named Dhaka Dynamites by Beximco, Chittagong Vikings by DBL Group, Sylhet Superstars by Alif Group who owned Barisal Burners previously, Barisal Bulls by Axiom Group and only participant from previous season, Rangpur Riders by i-sports. We could not see old franchise Khulna and Rajshahi, because BPL T20 management wanted to play with less teams and make sure every franchise is able to pay their shares as well as players fees on time, unlike the previous seasons. And the season went well as per their expectations.
But, this season Mango Entertainment and Amin Group bought rights for those 2 teams named Rajshahi Kings and Khulna Titans. Unfortunately we could not see 8 teams in this season, as Sylhet Superstars got suspended for breaking BPL laws.
So, this season we will see the battle of 7 in the field. In addition, gossip flying in the air that, a new venue could be added in list of BPL venues.
